May 27, 2026 / Powersports

Dutch trial rider Tristan Klein Zandvoort continues to show strong progress in his first season on KENDA Ibex Trials tyres. After switching from Michelin to KENDA for the 2026 season, Tristan claimed second place at the Dutch Championship round in Nunspeet — and has now taken his first win at the latest round in Apeldoorn.

A promising start on KENDA tyres

Tristan Klein Zandvoort made the switch from Michelin tyres to KENDA tyres for the 2026 season, and the early signs have been very positive. Since making the switch to KENDA tyres, the Dutch trial rider has continued to find grip, control, and confidence across different terrains and race conditions.

Finding the right setup in Dortmund

At the WTP race in Dortmund, Germany — a demanding round of the German Championship — Tristan faced a difficult course with elevation changes and stony ground.

Tristan found the grip he needed and secured a strong third-place finish. It was an early sign that the KENDA setup could deliver control and traction on technical terrain.

Building momentum on home soil

Back in the Netherlands at the Dutch Championship round in Nunspeet, Tristan pushed even further.

A strong opening lap put him in contention for the win, but a few small mistakes meant he ultimately claimed second place. Even so, the result showed another step forward, with Tristan continuing to gain confidence on the new tyres.

Turning progress into a win

At the latest Dutch Championship round in Apeldoorn, Tristan delivered his strongest result yet.

The race took place in demanding conditions, with high temperatures, plenty of dust, and hard-packed ground underneath. For a trial rider, that combination can be tricky: grip has to be predictable when climbing, braking, and placing the bike precisely on uneven terrain.

Tristan handled the conditions with confidence and delivered a brilliant ride on KENDA Ibex Trials tyres — turning his early progress into his first win.

Built for unpredictable terrain

Tristan rides on KENDA Ibex Trials tyres, designed for technical and unpredictable terrain.

The tread pattern is engineered to provide control across changing surfaces, while the rubber compound balances the flexibility needed for grip with the toughness needed for demanding conditions.

The result is a tyre that grips on rocks, adapts to soft surfaces, and maintains control through technical sections — helping Tristan tackle difficult terrain with confidence.

More tests ahead

Tristan’s training is clearly going well, and each race shows another step forward. The switch to KENDA tyres for the 2026 season is proving to be a strong move so far.

Next up is a new test in Belgium, where stones and clay slopes will ask something different from both rider and tyres. That is what makes trials so interesting: every surface tells you something new.

We are proud to support Tristan on this journey and look forward to seeing what comes next.
